MUSCLE TEARS AND STRAINS

St Giles Physiotherapy & Sports Rehabilitation Clinic regularly attends to muscle strains and tears, which occur when muscle fibres are incapable of withstanding the repeated or strenuous demands placed upon them, causing symptoms such as pain, restricted range of motion, bruising, swelling, and redness at the site of the strain. To remedy these problems, we employ EMS and laser therapy to relieve discomfort and enhance blood flow in the affected area.
Once your muscle starts to heal, we will implement exercises aimed at strengthening not only the affected muscle but also the surrounding muscles, to reduce the risk of re-injury. The recovery duration depends on the severity of the strain, with a range of four sessions for a grade one strain to up to twelve appointments for a grade three strain.
